Question: What are you researching for your letter of the Alberta alphabet?
Your student should be able to:
- Go back and edit their work for missing/misplaced capitals and periods, as well as basic sight words. They do not need to find and fix everything, but be able to point out a few places that need editing.
- Write a summary after reading a specific text (story or article) that contains important information in their own words.
- Be able to decipher lessons, or an author’s intended message after reading various forms of text.
- Discuss where most of Alberta’s fossils and dinosaur bones are located in the province (Badlands), who found the first dinosaur fossil in Alberta (Joseph Tyrell), and what some different opinions are around who should own fossils and dinosaur bones.
- State the 6 simple machines, and give an example where each one can be found in everyday environments: wheel and axle, pulley, screw, inclined plane, wedge, and levers.
- Complete 3-digit subtraction problems using the strategy of regrouping/borrowing.
- Recite their multiplication facts 0 – 5.
