- Read our new class novel “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen.
- Had Gym with Mrs. Bezugley, Mrs. Weir and our Grade 5 buddy class.
- Watched a short video of a professional artist giving a demonstration for children on how to use oil pastels.
- Created landscape pictures of the Foothills region using oil pastels.
- Had a short dance party with our Grade One buddies.

Your student should be able to:
- Go back and edit their work for missing/misplaced capitals and periods, as well as basic sight words. They do not need to find and fix everything, but be able to point out a few places that need editing.
- Write a summary after reading a specific text (story or article) that contains important information in their own words.
- Be able to decipher lessons, or an author’s intended message after reading various forms of text.
- State the 6 geographical regions of Alberta: Grasslands, Rocky Mountains, Foothills, Boreal Forest, Canadian Shield, and Parkland.
- Give information about each geographical region such as climate, animals, vegetation, and resources found there.
- Give a few interesting facts about Alberta and its emblems, for example our provincial flower, stone, fish, tree, mammal, motto, crest, flag, birthday, etc…
- Give a few reasons as to why having protected areas in Alberta is important. (provincial and national parks)
- State the 6 simple machines, and give an example where each one can be found in everyday environments: wheel and axle, pulley, screw, inclined plane, wedge, and levers.
- Explain what a cuisiniere rod is, and how we can use them to make If…Then comparisons.
