Student Quotes:
“I liked adding stuff to IRIS today because I got to share stuff from all year.”
“I liked playing Sticks in Gym because it was so challenging.”
“I learned that fractions have 2 numbers.”
“I liked starting my good copy letter to my grade 4 teacher because I picked out star paper.”
Question: What does intuition mean?
- Had Music.
- Finished writing rough copy letters to our Grade 4 Teachers; some students have begun to write the good copies of their letters on special paper.
- Continued reading our class read aloud The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan.
- Began talking about fractions. We discussed the numerator (the top number in a fraction) and the denominator (the bottom number in a fraction), that all pieces need to be equal, and that a picture or diagram can represent more than one fraction. We then watched a few short video clips about fractions, and explored fraction rods at our desks in partners.
- Played Sticks (similar to Capture the Flag) and Sticks In The Fist (a game of intuition and observation) in Gym to prepare for Aboriginal Sport’s Day this Friday. Students please explain how to play these games to your parents.
- Used lap top computers to add information to our IRIS portfolios. This will be the last addition of artifacts before the end of the year. Students please tell your parents what you added to your IRIS portfolio today.
