Shortly, students will begin their next two Science Units: Testing Materials and Designs in conjunction with Building With A Variety Of Materials. For the months of February, March, and April students will participate in collaborative, hands-on Science activities that will involve designing and building various structures. In order to make these activities a success I am hoping that parents will be able to donate the following items:

- Boxes of various sizes from food items – crackers, cereal, oatmeal, cookies, etc…

Today We:
- Had music with Mrs. Dennill
- Continued our exploration of stories. We talked about how to find big ideas in stories, and how to prove that these are the big ideas using information from the story. E also talked about why big ideas in stories are important to us.
- Continued our read-aloud I Want to go Home by Gordon Korman
- Learned about the strength of triangles and squares and started testing which one is stronger.
- Learned how to stretch and warm up our bodies before we dance. We also practiced skipping, different types of turns, and kicks.
- Finished our measuring scavenger hunt and talked about standard and non-standard units
- Explored stability by building with dominos
