Shortly, students will begin their next two Science Units: Testing Materials and Designs in conjunction with Building With A Variety Of Materials. For the months of February, March, and April students will participate in collaborative, hands-on Science activities that will involve designing and building various structures. In order to make these activities a success I am hoping that parents will be able to donate the following items:

- Jars and Lids
- String, yarn, twine, ribbon, pipe cleaners

- Thread spools
- Fabric
- Plastic bags, zip locks
- Dowels
- Plastic containers
- Marbles
- Old CD’s
- Boxes of various sizes from food items – crackers, cereal, oatmeal, cookies, etc…

Today We:
- Had Music.
- Continued to work on our pen pal letters.
- Had our final art lesson with Mrs. Ferrari; we will finish up our oil pastel artwork before the Spring Concert.
- Read our class read aloud “I Want to Go Home,” by Gordon Korman.
- Continued to work on our Eagle Reflection pages with Ms. Parent.
- Answered and discussed the following questions during Quick Math: What different ways are there to measure? What might I use a meter stick to measure? What might a use a ruler to measure? Students please tell your parents when you might use a meter stick to measure something and when you might use a ruler to measure something.
- Read the story “Measuring Penny,” in connection to both Math and our Building Units of Study in Science.
- Practiced our dribbling skills, shooting skills, and played 3 Way Keep Away in Gym.
- Practiced our multiplication skills by singing our multiplication songs with Ms. Parent’s class.
- Met with Ms. Sheila Bean from City Hall School, who asked us a few questions about what we knew about downtown.
