- Had a group discussion in Room 10 about bullying, filtering our thoughts before we speak, as well as using appropriate language.

Your student should be able to:
- Decipher lessons, or an author’s intended message after reading various forms of text.
- Retell a few different First Nations legends, state whether they are creation or lesson legends, and what the message or purpose of the story was.
- Explain how the First Nations people decided what to put on their teepees.
- Explain what a few First Nations symbols mean.
- Be able to explain what a storyboard is. It is a plan for a story where sketches or pictures accompany short phrases or ideas using organized boxes.
- Solve word problems that involve the movement/passing of time. For example: Billy went to soccer at 11:00 am. He warmed up for 15 minutes, practiced with his team for 80 minutes, and then cooled down for 15 minutes. How long was Billy at soccer? What time did soccer end?
- Explain what a mira is. A plastic device used to help find mirror images and lines of symmetry.
- List various optical devices and what they are used for. For example: microscope, telescope, magnifying glass, glasses, camera, kaleidoscope, etc…
